Biographical Note for Ediger, Elmer M. (1917-1983) :

Born 4 August 1917, near Greensburg, Kansas. Parents David J. Ediger and Anna Martens.

Family moved to Buhler, Kansas, ca. 1923.

Graduated from Bethel College 1940.

Taught school for 2 years near Hays, Kansas.

Drafted September 1942 and went into Civilian Public Service. Served at Colorado Springs and Weeping Water, Nebraska. Was education director and general director of MCC CPS in Akron, Pennsylvania ending in 1947.

Graduated from Mennonite Biblical Seminary, Chicago, Illinois.

Then involved in youth work and voluntary service administration for General Conference Mennonite Church. Executive director of Board of Christian Service 1951-1957.

Administrator of Prairie View Mental Health Center, Newton, Kansas, 1957-1972, executive director 1972-1983.

Died 22 September 1983, Newton, Kansas.
