Worked as a barber, school teacher, farmer.

Served as "Brandschulz" or fire insurance agent (in Nebraska). Involved in Jansen Creamery. Elected Kleine Gemeinde minister in 1900.

Died 7 January 1904, Jansen, Nebraska.
