Biographical Note for Ellenberger, D. Adolf (1846-1889) :

Born 27 March 1846, Friedelsheim, Palatinate. Died 13 August 1889, Monsheim, Palatinate. Parents Jakob Ellenberger and Lisette Blickensd├Ârfer.

"Studied theology at the Mission House in Basel, Switzerland, where he learned to know Michael Landes of Albertshausen, a fellow student. During a visit at Albertshausen he met Michael's sister Marie, whom he later married. He was minister at the Monsheim Mennonite church.

"After Adolf's early death, Marie and the children went to Gelchsheim, Bavaria, to live in the home of her sister Babette, Frau Heinrich Horsch. She lived there until 1907 when she and her youngest daughter, Selma, moved to W├╝rzburg to live with her son, Heinrich, who was teaching there."

Some of their children moved to the United States.
