Henry B. Reist's notebook contains his account of a two-month long train trip from eastern Pennslyvania to the Midwestern and Southern United States.  Reist travelled with his wife, John Nissley and his wife, and Henry S. Snavley and his wife.  Of particular note are Reist's comments on the landscapes and wildlife he encounters, regional agricultural practices, and the friendliness of the Southerners he meets.

Researchers should note that the archives does not possess the original notebook, but rather a typed transcription.
