Collection Historical Note

Edwin L. Weaver was a professor at Biola College, Huntington College, Tougaloo Southern Christian College, and in the public school system in northern Indiana. He did pioneer work in the Mennonite Church in organizing Summer Bible School. Weaver was the author of two books, Holdeman Descendants, 1937, and Gleanings From Literary Lines and Writings, 1939 (later published by Weaver under the title Spiriual Lessons From Literary Masters). Weaver did Civilian Public Service work in Polk County, Florida, and taught in Ethiopia under Mennonite Central Committee (ca. 1948-1952). He also worked in Europe during the middle 1960s under an inter-denominational organization called Operation Mobilization.
