Historical Note: Beulah Stauffer Hostetler (1926-2005) was a women's leader within the Mennonite Church, achieving a high standard of education and becoming proficient in many fields. In addition to graduating from Hesston College, Goshen College, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Beulah received her PhD in Religious Thought from the University of Pennsylvania. In her lifetime she also was edior for the Mennonite Publishing House, a historian, a researcher with husband John A. Hostetler, an author, an illustrator, and a professor at Elizabethtown College. She was also active her her church life and taught many adult Sunday School courses and gave many sermons and lectures.
