Name: Frey, Philemon L. (1896-1984)


Historical Note: Philemon L. Frey (1896-1984) was a conscientious objector during World War I and was stationed at Camp Sherman located in Ohio. Frey was ordained to the Mennonite ministry in 1936. He became a part of the ministerial staff at the Central Mennonite Church in Archbold, Ohio, where he served for about twenty years. After that he became the pastor at the Zion Mennonite Church for almost ten years. During World War II he was involved with the Mennonite Central Committee and also aissisted with tasks relating to the Civilian Public Service.
